Our brother, friend, and co-missionary Godfred Narteh tied the knot with his beloved Faustina. The glorious wedding took place in Sunyani and our team was there to support him and his bride. Please remember them in your prayers that their union will continue to stand on the foundations of God’s word, that their home will always be filled with the joy of the Lord, and be a model of a God-honoring, eternity-minded family.
The Damdu Community
Damdu is one of the communities in which the EFM missionaries work. This community used to be very vibrant in their receptivity to the gospel, among the villages we work in. However, they have recently become very hostile to us. Some the young men in the village are protesting that even if their Chief provides us with a land to build a church, they will still oppose the construction of the building.
Persecution of Muslim Converts
Zeinab and other converted ladies who used to be part of our Bible
listening group have been under intense persecution from some
individuals in the Damdu community. The people have refused to buy
the goods these women sell, and to promote indoctrination, the
Islamic leaders in the community sent these women to an Islamic
school of Quran recitation in Tamale.
Mma Zeinab, who in the past
refused to join the Muslim fast, began to avoid us because of the
constant persecution. To further keep her distance and worsen our
relationship she asked us not to visit her again as she is back to
God has blessed us with other converts we are discipling in Damdu,
the general hostility is still very evident. This is because some
converts such as Kande have been warned by the Muslims not to invite
us into his home anymore. Others also rudely take their children from
the Sunday School sessions we hold for them. We however continue to
show them love and pray for the community because we have no doubt
that it is the devil at work, but the victory has already been won
through Jesus Christ’s death on the cross of Calvary.
Revival of the listening group
which has collapsed due to the ongoing persecution
Challenges with meeting converts
regularly (convert unavailability and insufficient labourers to
reach out regularly).
Mma Zeinab, and all the other
women, who have turned away from the faith that Jesus will lead them
back to himself.
Mma Zeinab who has a chronic
knee pain that she will experience a supernatural healing but most
especially a healing from spiritual blindness of Islam.
Strength for the converts to
withstand the persecution and grow in their faith, being faithful
witnesses of Christ to their community.
