It
was through Azara’s mother-in-law, Mma Abibata that we met Azara
who also accepted Jesus Christ and has been hearing the gospel for
over six months. Azara was pregnant when we befriended her and after
delivering a baby girl in July, Azara became sick. Her predicament
worsened as she experienced severe demonic attacks at night which
made her restless. According to her, she could see and feel the
presence of these spirit beings at night. Azara’s husband and
family took her to the clinic for medical attention and to the shrine
for spiritual healing as she was too weak to protest but to no avail.
On Sunday 8th December 2018, we went to the village for our usual Sunday fellowship meetings with Muslim converts and met Azara and her husband who had returned home from the clinic and prayed for her. The team used the occasion to share the gospel with them and encourage them in the Lord. The missionary team then prayed for God’s protection over her, anointed her with oil and taught her to pray in Jesus’ name anytime she was under demonic attack. In fact, any time she experienced problems, she called us on phone to pray for her.
By
the grace and mercies of God, Azara started experiencing significant
improvement in her health and no more spiritual attacks at night and
in her dreams.
Azara’s
husband, Mahmadu in a fellowship meeting a week after he received
Christ.
On Dec. 23, we had Sunday
service at her home where her husband, Mahamadu, heard the Word and
gave his life to Jesus Christ. At the end, our director bro. Frank
advised Azara’s family to take her to a specialist to be examined
thoroughly. The family
shared their inability to foot the medical bills so the missionary
team put our widow’s mite together to ensure her bills were paid.
Azara was diagnosed of complications in her kidney and liver but the
specialist confirmed her condition had improved immensely at the time
of examination. She was admitted and monitored for a week and since
her discharge from the hospital has been doing very well. Azara’s
medical records has since been transferred to Savelugu from Tamale
Central Hospital for regular medical reviews.
Let
us remember our sister Azara and her household in prayers: for her
complete healing and also for her husband, Mahamadu, that he will
continue to grow in his walk with Jesus Christ.
